"I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children. Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel." - 1 Corinthians 4:14-15 (NIV)
nobody in the first churches called Paul "holy father Paul" or even "father Paul" to my knowledge. And he never accepted it as a title, let alone introduced himself that way! He always only called the Father, Father. And the christians knew this distinction.
Bingo1 This guy said what I've been saying for decades! Crist did not like the king (Government) he thought them to be corrupt and not caring! He commanded that we all take care of the poor, elderly, maimed, and children. His command, " This I say to you, love one another." he did not say, I command The that you give the king the power to take care of everyone. He knew they were corrupt and would use that power in an evil way!
"Do not call anyone on earth (who guides you spiritually) your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven" Matthew 23:9

Yes it is for the individual to take care of the poor according to individual charity.
It is never the job of the government, not even the churches, to extract by force, anything due to the poor by charity alone.
I keep hearing wokeness in the church's reflection of scripture
