I am of two minds about this.
Yes, there are people that are analytical and do the work of researching whilst allowing the data to guide them. You are allowed to have hypothesis and preconceived notions as long as you allow the data to guide you.
But just like any segment of the population, you also have people that have a preconceived notion and will cherry pick data that agrees with them while ignoring data or patterns that go against their notion.
both people can be right, and both can be wrong, but the latter is definitely a more dangerous methodology and can often lead to a slippery slope.
The worst offenders are those that will bash defame those in the same team that are also doing critical research of their own, that happen to come to a different or antithetical conclusion. Instead of bashing, talk, debate, not to win points but to understand and learn the others point if view. We are all in the side of truth here, so when somone here has a different point of view, respect it, challenge it, but be willing to be challenged yourself, and sometimes be willing to accept that the truth is not always what it seems.
