Strange thing is I saw this on X while I was in southern NJ with 0.2" rain total for the past 6 hrs and I looked up Elizabeth NJ (northern NJ near Newark airport) and they had ~5.9" in the past 6 hrs. Less than 100 miles between spots. And nyc/Westchester was flooded too. It's possible to be a localized storm but I found it strange.

They are using the Nexrad radar system to keep these storms in one place for an extended period causing excess rain.
