Historical context would really go a long way here.

Number of data sets on this are huge. Really wouldn't know where to begin..

I'll throw a theory that goes the other direction: I'm seeing a lot fewer ***trails the last few months (really since Turmp took office). Maybe "normal" is for there to be more rain?
