I used travel to Louisville frequently and really enjoyed the city. The last time I was there the city had allowed a fairly large number of homeless people set up camp. I’m not sure what virtue was supposedly being signaled by allowing fellow human beings who need help to live in filth and be exposed to the elements.
Admittedly that was a few years ago, I think they finally removed the camp. What has stuck with me is how the Democrat mentality can ruin what should be one of the best small cities in the country.
Inner city gibs keep the local government democrat. Also, a good number of brainwashed holdovers from when the unions had the town controlled. You had two ford plants , General Electric, international harvester, and several other teamster controlled companies. I know people who work at Ford now who aren’t libs, but they still love giving money to their union. In the seventies, it earned the nickname “strike city USA “ The mayor is also named Greenberg, fwiw. Traditional hillbilly name.
Louisville has had a growing heroin problem for nearly two decades now. That's where a majority of the homeless problem comes from. D led city and gov give the junkies free drugs and needles. Same issue as out West.

Owensboro was a cool little city. I haven’t been there in years, but I’m a fan of their style of barbecue and their burgoo.
