This wording is incorrect. There are 7 cervical vertebrae in the spine. The discs are those gel-like things that help cushion and protect the vertebrae, and allow better range-of-motion. There are actually only 23 discs in the spine because the sacrum and tailbone don't have any. The bones are the vertebrae.
Source - me. I have a cervical fusion in C5-C7 (originally thanks to 2 herniated discs) and am about to have that hardware removed (broken screw in C7) and redone to also incorporate C4 (dammit). Oddly enough I just got the call for my neuro appt where they will do the tests, and an MRI and tell me "Did you know you have a broken titanium screw in C7" and that I will need my fusion redone and the screw parts removed before they puncture my spinal cord, my carotid artery, or my jugular vein. SMH.

I only have 27 vertebrae since C5-7 are now fused into 1 (so 5 cervical vertebrae), and no longer have the 4 in a tailbone.
I asked Grok for an easy list of the vertebrae in the spine:

12 thoracic (upper back)
5 lumbar (lower back)
5 sacral (fused into the sacrum in adults)
