I see a possibly different playout. The Trump administration is, so far, artfully pulling the plugs on the Deep State propaganda and action machinery by defunding USAID and NPR/PBS. There will be an avalanche effect as dependent stations curtail their broadcasts and MSM news/entertainment collapses, along with ANTIFA logistics. Meanwhile, the ordinary people are dropping MSM like fly shit and turning to other sources. The other sources will pick up a drumbeat of "Arrest them! Arrest them!" It will get to the point where the only people left who could be upset with arrests would be a small, impotent activist minority, while the vast majority of Americans would look on incuriously. A typical conversation might sound like:
"Oh, George. Did you hear that John Brennan was arrested today?"
"What? I thought he had passed away. Wasn't he on 'The Real McCoys'?"
"No, dear. That was Walter Brennan. He died 50 years ago. This is John Brennan."
"John Brennan? Who the hell is he?"
"The former head of the CIA. He's also a Muslim. They say he participated in a hoax against Trump."
"I wouldn't be surprised. I'm tired of these jerks. They should give him a cell with a window facing Mecca and throw away the key."
