Texas Democrats previously fled the state in 2003 to block GOP-led redistricting. Over 50 House members went to Oklahoma, and 11 senators to New Mexico, breaking quorum. Outcome: After standoffs and special sessions, the redistricting passed, giving Republicans a 21-11 House seat majority in 2004.
In 2021, they fled to D.C. over voting bills; those passed too after their return.

Texas has no jurisdiction in Illinois. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. As far as I know, they can only arrest them when they come back. And then only to force them to their seats so they can hold a quorum. If they can hit them with felony bribery charges, this would be more interesting. If the Governor can actually force them from their seats, this would be incredible.
