Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

OK. This is a personal gripe about my August electric bill with excessive connect-the-dot-itis applied.
Facts:
My August 2025 electric bill is 26% higher than my August 2024 electric bill and 21% higher than my August 2023 bill.
My Electric Company (Public Service Company of Oklahoma) is owned by AEP.
Per AI,
Corporation Commissioners Warn Ratepayers of Higher Monthly Bills if SB998 Becomes Law. Monday, May 05, 2025
Senate Bill 998 becomes law on 05-14-2025. https://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=SB99
Controversial new Oklahoma utility law likely headed to court, regulator says By Chloe Bennett-Steele, StateImpact Oklahoma Published May 16, 2025 at 1:27 PM CDT. Not signed by Governor Stitt???

Now, I'm wondering if this AEP questionable loan had an adverse effect on my August 2025 electric bill.
As I wonder this, I think about the many citizens who do not care about politics or corruption in politics or truth in government. Many of these citizens do care about their electric bills increasing 20+% in August. 🙋
THINGS THAT MAKE ONE GO HMMM.

my electric bill for the past 20 years is super expensive. without getting into the super details in the old house I would pay 100 dollars a month. When we moved to this house we paid 600 month. Both homes were all electric and about 5 miles apart. The difference was the electric company. The new one would charge peak hours and they essentially buy the power from the old power company and resell it. The water bill is also about the same percentage more and they too resell the water but use their pump.
It is a two fold thing. It keeps many people from living in my area for a long time and those who do stay for a long time are usually pretty chill. The old neighborhood is area is completely democratic hell hole with pot holes everywhere.
They steal from those who work and give to those who destroy. It is sick. This percentage is off and a reset has to happen, but I believe the democratic people wanted to have chaos and instead they are seeing they are losing that battle.
heck my area I live in is also a democratic hell hole, but a shift is sensed with seeing less of the LGBTQ flags and more of the Don't Tread on Me flags popping up.
for you it is possible areas like mine has been a thing to see and know they are going to do it to more areas in the USA. They really want to make people lower class or upper class. The middle class are where all their money comes from though. The money they give to the lower class that is.
Our US Treasury Secretary said he's working for Main Street, not Wall Street.
During the campaigns there was talk about the forgotten men and women being forgotten no longer.
I keep praying to live in Truth and I hope these "sayings" aren't just attractive words.
(There must be a reason why Governor Stitt didn't sign SB 899 and didn't veto it either.)
Now I'm pissed about my ok electric bill and I haven't even looked at it yet....
