A total guess: A curfew like ban on under 18 at the McDonalds or more. They might have had trouble with bunches of teenagers hanging out there and causing trouble. McDonald’s is rare there, probably Milton Keens. I used to drive there for a fix of America every so often. And they had real chocolate shakes.
