My one and only trip to DC was around 1980, summer between 8th & 9th grade. If it gets cleaned up I’d love to go back to the Smithsonian & go to the Vietnam memorial. I believe as an adult I’d appreciate things more so than a young teenager. I get DC isn’t a good place especially those that live there, but history should be learned by everyone. I’m still moved by my Pearl Harbor visit almost fifteen years ago. Visiting our military memorials should be required by all students.
