He didn't change any verses that I am aware of. It's a KJV translation with notes/commentary. It was the notes, the commentary, that was added that presented the problem. The gullible trusted the notes and would tend to put them on par with actual scripture.
Along with that they published the Scofield Reference Bible to dupe gullible Christians.
This is parroted a lot but can you explain what, if any, verses Scolfield changed? As far as I aware, he only wrote notes on Bible verses.
So yes, gullible in that they would choose to believe someone’s opinion about what God says vs what God actually says.
