Especially when so much of his campaign against Biden had to do with Biden being too old for the job. In the next election, Trump would be much older than Biden was during this last campaign.
So he'd spend the entire campaign with his own attacks on age being used against him. 🤷♀️
Not only that, but there is no way he's going to get Congress to change the 22nd amendment. And if you didn't notice, this last election cycle, he was encouraging people to use mail in voting which resulted in him being elected.
So now claiming that mail in voting is still full of fraud would just call into question the legitimacy of his last win. You can't keep flip flopping back and forth between mail in voting being good or bad, depending on how things are going for you personally at the time.
The way things are going as it is, we're looking to lose seats in Congress during the mid-terms and could very possibly lose one or even both the House and the Senate, very similar to how the midterms went during Trump's last term in office.
So, no, I just don't see Trump getting another term in office. It's just a very unrealistic pipe dream fantasy people have, and they're going to be absolutely crushed when their fantasies don't play out.
And we definitely do NOT need one of Trump's kids becoming President, either. No offense to President Trump, but his children are not really Presidential material. Just because they have his DNA doesn't mean they will be anything like him as President.
So, yeah, this is the main reason why I've spent the last decade warning people not to put all their eggs in the Trump basket, because he would eventually have to leave office. We should have been spending our time building up the Party, not the man, because the Party is what would last. But now the party is split between MAGA and the Republicans that don't support MAGA.
And that's going to cause problems for us in the future. Unless we can find a new, charismatic face to the party that will unify it again, we're in deep trouble. And if we did, then it would most likely result in the same thing. A cult of personality where everything is about the man, not the party.
And I think lots of people realize that and is why they're making all these efforts to get Trump reelected yet again (snowballs chance in hell that it is) is because they KNOW that once Trump is done, then we're fucked. Proper fucked.
So...yeah. It's not going to be pretty. But people don't want to face the reality of the situation. 🤷♀️
"Especially when so much of his campaign against Biden had to do with Biden being too old for the job" Trump did not make an issue of Biden's age It was his cognitive ability. The pardon challenge thing has to do with Biden's cognition, not his age. The Jun 2024 debate featured Biden's steep cognitive decline vs. Trump firing on all 8 for the whole world to see. Your opening premise is incorrect.
