Slavery was THE issue. First, I got that from family history; my great-great grandfather served in the Union army of Illinois. Second, the political context was the balance of power in the legislature between slave and non-slave states. New states were being admitted to the union and the circumstances were that they were bound to be non-slave states. The South saw that its days were numbered, as the majority would shift to non-slave states and the "institution" of slavery would be abolished. So, with the election of an abolitionist president, they figured the jig was up and decided to cut and run---and fired the first shot of rebellion.
There is no way to defend the perpetuation of slavery over issues of white-collar crimes or concerns.
Lincoln wrote in a letter to Horace Greeley on August 22, 1862:
"My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that".
They should never have let the Jews bring those people over here. It was inhumane and set up muticulturalism.
Thankfully deporting the violent ones are in the works by President Trump.
It doesn't matter what Lincoln had to say about it. The South started the war in order to rebel against the union into which they had entered---for the sake of preserving slavery against the incoming Republican-dominated government. That was THEIR motive, without which the war would never have STARTED. (Every violent criminal starts from motives of gain. Every victim defends from motives of self-preservation.)
The slaves from Africa were dehumanized, regimented, treated as cattle, and were forced to eat what they were allowed, and to follow the life of the plantation. Their original culture was essentially obliterated. The only culture that generations of slaves grew into was the American slave-holding culture. (Which the Democrats perpetuate into ballot-harvesting via Great Society dependency.)
Trump is now deporting violent slaves? I think you are blurring topics.
The correct analogy would be if you shoot at me (Fort Sumpter) and declare yourself immune from reprisal, you would be wrong. Moreover, you shoot at me as a pre-emptive act to escape the perceived impending abolition of slavery. Nothing worthy in it.
The cause of the South had nothing to do with Cherokees, so far as I am aware.

Slavery had nothing to do with the Civil war

As for Jews being solely responsible for the trade, here is a more realistic view. https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/jews-and-the-african-slave-trade/ You are relying on bogus history. Essentially, EVERYONE was involved in the trade.

If I come into your house, refuse to leave, and you shoot at me, are you starting a war...
Why were the Cherokee Indians the last to surrender....
Abe created the issue Trump is fixing.
