I think Trump is getting maximum visibility on US MIL cleaning up DC, so he can justify deploying the NG to other cities.
Most people seem to forget that Washington, DC is a VERY DIFFERENT animal than any city within the 50 States, legally speaking.
The federal government has EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION over the District of Columbia, per the Constitution.
That is not the case with any city within the 50 States, where it has only ENUMERATED POWERS over specified subject matters. Of course, illegal immigration and invasion IS one of those enumerated powers.
