I believe the best way forward with cannabis will be to make it so that federally it isn't enforced at all but it is enforced at the state level.
Rescheduling it any other way at the federal level sets a precedent for all states. Kicking it back to the states (like abortion) allows each state to do what they want with it.
Conservative states can keep it illegal and the lefty states can legalize it. Or whatever the individual states decides to do with it
Conservatives should make a thorough examination of the history of Cannabis sativa in the USA. From the very start when we needed it hemp was there. Hemp clothes helped the soldiers at Valley Forge survive the brutal winter. Drafts of the Constitution were written on hemp paper. Our nation's original flag made by Betsy Ross is made of hemp.
Then go on to O'Shaughnessy and the Cannabis medicine movement he sparked in 19th century America. Then the cowardly and stupid banning of Cannabis by Congress in the 30's, right when new processing technology was ready to make hemp "The New Billion Dollar Crop" in 1938 (Popular Mechanics.) Then see how the US government was forced to allow farmers to grow much-needed hemp again for the war effort.
Hemp and weed….two different animals.
Both help cure cancer.
It's the same species. Back in the day there was no limit on THC content in hemp. It was not even known what THC was. No doubt some of that stuff was not bad at all.
It was all to get hemp out of the market, so that oil could take its place.
There is even hempfuel. But keeping THC illegal will make the farmers of hemp potential criminals.
There were “financial” reasons. Think about ivermectin recently; and it had a century of success logged. Get rid of the old banker families, let humanity bloom.
You get it. The petty squabbles and cultural instability is a reasult of these fucks putting their fingers on the scales. Remove them and their ilk and nature will restore balance.
Hemp for Victory. The government even did propaganda for it.
Makes great rope…for when it’s needed in the near future.
Funny you should say that.
u/UltraMagaOK linked to the video here and from it I quote:
"For the sailor no less the hangmann, hemp was indispensable. "
It's an eye-opener.
