That said, my word are only words and a kinetic war would have a negative outcome in 5th gen warfare. So people rising up in this way, and marching with their flags and outnumbering their opponents is the way to go.
NOW, if the British government started opening fire on them... we would have legitimate reason to petition our government to send resources. And our current administration would certainly do something.
