Agreed. IMO if Trump had said,

I'm ending wars left and right. I've ended half a dozen wars since I retook office, with more coming. I'm tired of seeing our politicians keep dragging us into pointless war after endless war. We will NEVER AGAIN have a "War Department", because we don't like war and don't want war! That is why I am ending wars all over the world. I am the chief DEFENDER of our Country, and we will keep the Department of DEFENSE so named. PEACE IS THE PRIZE. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!"

...then this thread would be filled with people endorsing that commonsense, peace-focused decision. If he'd said that, not one person in this thread would be all "I want war! Trump the Peacemaker, Schrump the Schmeacemaker! I want a Department of War! War war war!!"
