Happy Birthday to my wonderful brother, Robert. He is in Heaven now, watching down on us, and very proud with what he is seeing. What a great guy he was! I miss him, and always will.
Robert Stewart Trump (August 26, 1948 โ August 15, 2020) was an American businessman, real estate developer, and investor, and the younger brother of U.S. President Donald Trump.
He was the youngest of five children born to Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod.
Trump attended Boston University, where he earned a degree in economics, played soccer, and served as team captain and MVP in 1969.
He began his career in finance before joining the family real estate business.
He managed the Trump Organizationโs real estate holdings outside Manhattan and served as president of Trump Management, a company owned by the Trump siblings.
In 1990, Donald Trump appointed Robert to oversee the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, where he faced significant operational challenges.
From 1999 until his death, he served on the board of directors and was an investor in ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, a role partly intended to provide political insulation following concerns about violent video games after the Columbine High School massacre.
Trump was married twice: first to Blaine Beard from 1984 until their divorce in 2009, during which he helped raise her son, Christopher Trump-Retchin
; and then to Ann Marie Pallan, a Trump Organization employee, whom he married in January 2020.
He lived in Millbrook, New York, and was described as having retired from the spotlight while remaining a loyal and vocal supporter of his brotherโs political career.
In June 2020, he filed a lawsuit attempting to block the publication of his niece Mary L. Trumpโs memoir, Too Much and Never Enough, citing a confidentiality agreement, but the effort was unsuccessful.
He was hospitalized multiple times in the months before his death, and died at NewYorkโPresbyterian Hospital on August 15, 2020, at age 71, from complications following an intracerebral hemorrhage after a fall.
President Donald Trump announced his brotherโs death, calling him his best friend and stating, โHe was not just my brother, he was my best friendโ.
A private funeral was held in the East Room of the White House on August 21, 2020, attended by 150 guests, marking the first time in nearly a century a sitting president hosted a funeral in that room.
Trump was remembered for his philanthropy, supporting causes such as Angels of Light and Patriots and Ponies, and for living a life away from public attention, focused on family and the outdoors.
President Trump's older brother, Fred Jr. was destroyed by alcohol. That's why POTUS doesn't drink. He adored Fred. ๐
President Donald Trump's older brother, Fred Trump Jr., died at the age of 42 on September 26, 1981, from a heart attack caused by alcoholism.
Fred Jr., who was eight years older than Donald, initially worked briefly in the family real estate business but pursued his passion for aviation, becoming a pilot for TWA, a career cut short due to his drinking.
Donald Trump has frequently cited his brother's struggle with alcoholism as a formative influence, stating it shaped his empathetic view on addiction and motivated his administration's efforts against the opioid crisis.
He has expressed regret for pressuring his brother to join the family business, acknowledging that Fred Jr. was not interested in real estate and that the pressure may have contributed to his drinking problem.
Trump, who abstains from alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs, has said he avoids them because of his brother's experience, fearing he might also develop an addiction.
Yep. I was aware of the story about Fred, but I confused it with this other brother. I didn't realize he had outlived two brothers, both close to him. Outliving one brother is bad enough.
It's great that there's so much love in that family for one another.
I know how he feels. I lost my best friend and favorite brother last year, the day of the election, at 35 years old.
Not a day goes by that I don't miss him greatly.
My cousin who grew up with me and was born 5 days apart from me, committed suicide in 2022, and this community was a great help for me when that happened. I can understand Trump missing his brother.
His passing was very quick and cloaked in secrecy. I may be totally wrong here, but I had a strong feeling at the time that he didn't pass. I got the impression he knew how badly his brother needed him. So he, being not only a body double candidate with a little work, also another brilliant set of eyes ,ears and Mind on the team. The literally had the most 'quaint' and private funeral in secrecy. I just feel it in my gut, he didn't pass in that NYC zoo hospital, he joined the team, either way !
I forgot to add, Robert and Ivanka may have been removed from the playing field for their own protection, and for the family benefit. Again, just gut feelings.

It felt like they killed him.
For me, too bb...and Ivana.
Both of them suffering from serious falls that ultimately caused their deaths.
Curious, no? ๐ค I'm afraid it was the DS and his Post this morning may have been a message to THEM
Trump has said more than once that alcohol did him in. Just as it did my younger brother.
That was his brother, Fred, who died in his forties. He had problems with alcoholism.
Holy cow, you're right. I had thought this was the same brother. Well, I had a smaller family and it was harder to make a mistake.
I'm sorry about your brother fren..๐๐๐ค
