Trump administration axes sixth San Francisco immigration judge

The Trump administration fired yet another San Francisco immigration judge, the sixth judge from the city’s immigration court who’s been terminated since he took office in January.

Like most of the other San Francisco judges who have been terminated, Levine had a track record of granting asylum in the vast majority of cases that came before her. According to data from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University, Levine’s grant rate was over 97%.

“Another experienced judge has been fired without cause,” said a former colleague with firsthand knowledge of the order. “The administration is systematically dismantling the immigration courts and any semblance of due process in immigration proceedings.”
