It's the insurance costs (malpractice) in a litigious society, coupled with dei doctors that did them in.
Did “we” actually get litigious or was that an op, too, target independent doctors to force everyone into networks run by insurance, which are mostly parent-companied by banks.
Doctors don’t get it or take it, they get sued by plants.
Patients don’t get it or take it, they can’t afford the costs being pushed out by networks.

What funded the massive uptick in lawyers being everywhere back in the .. how far back did that push start? There were definitely big moves in the 80’s.
Pretty sure that is what happened and was intentional and planned to capture market share and control. Dunno how it’d be proven, but if I had access to the unlimited money spigot and was an evil bastard, those would be parts of my strategy.
