4,900 less kids since 2019. They closed 20 elementary buildings to consolidate. Either people are fleeing the city or they are homeschooling.
Anyone that can afford it moves to the Eastside (Seattle suburbs) Mercer Island, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah, Woodinville, or Snoqualmie.
