I read a piece written by a Navy Seal instructor once. I have hunted, and hunted for it, but cannot find again. What he said is that most recruits that come from country boys already know about 90% of what they need to learn as a Navy Seal. He went into detail of what a country boy learns growing up. I can't remember how he put it, but could look back on my own growing up in country and say, "yup, I learned all that stuff growing up".
