Could not agree more, DJ. I don't live in an open carry state but even if I did, I'd greatly prefer the advantage of concealment and surprise.
I of course agree that it should be legal. But I think it should be used smartly. Some areas of the country, it's culturally not a big deal to open carry. Other areas where it's legal, as you said, it freaks the Karen's out.
But I know for some people, open carry is a "loud and proud" statement. Doesn't seem very tactical though.
