Serious? I can......
TBH: (and NOT picking on you at all) I'm shocked there are people out there who would expect others to come to their assistance.....
Read up on the murder of Kitty Genovese & the well-documented "Bystander Effect";
Don't ASSume that ANYONE will come to your aid if you are ever attacked.
If you are a grown ass adult who feeds themselves, bathes themselves, pumps your own gas, etc., then you damn well better provide for your own physical safety & defense.
Never go anywhere unarmed, period, full stop, end of story.
Be trained & prepared to defend your life at all times.
PS: I do agree with you on helping people. I guess I've become pretty darn cynical, but I do stop to help others. A while ago - and the ONLY reason I did this is God / my guardian angel was truly urging me to do it, otherwise I never in a BILLION years would have even DREAMT of doing anything like this;
I stopped - at night - to help someone on a busy road. Ended up he just ran out of gas. I took him to get gas, and even helped put it in his tank when we got back to his car. He was very kind & grateful.
I was absolutely scrutinizing my gut / senses for ANY hint of anything bad & never got a tingle. He was just a normal, decent person in a crummy situation.
As I was finishing helping him, a young kid in a big ass truck stopped to offer help too. The world is much better + filled with more good than we sometimes think. i need to remind myself of that too. 🙏😇
Its pathetic we have to be so cautious when considering just helping other humans these days. 🤬😭🤬😭
Like I said; I was just listening to my guardian angel....
And indeed; it really is sick & sad that we have to be so cautious...🤬😭
But it gave me great hope when I was wrapping up helping the man, and that young kid (20's prob) in a huge, lifted truck pulled over & cheerfully offered help. 🫡🙏😇
Oop.... I see the problem......there's all sorts of plays on the term "assume / assumption"
I now see how you could have interepreted it that way, but I'm truly sorry & honestly did not intend it that way.
I was harping more on the fact of how assumptions almost always get one into trouble / never ends well when you make assumptions.
I honestly wasn't trying to insult you nor anyone.
My apologies.
ETA:
One of the main plays on the term is "assumption just makes & ass out of You & me" = ASS.U.ME.
Clearly in this case, it only made an ass out of me. My apologies. I'd never call names at anyone here. I'm embarrassed. 🫣🫣🫣😭

I agree, don't turn my back on a stranger, never have our backs to the door anywhere we go, know where another exit is located & combat park.
But, still can't believe no one tried to stop the bleeding or offer help! Disgusting.

Fuck you for calling me an ass.
It's my culture to come to people's aid.
That's what the WHOLE FUCKING PROBLEM IS; OUR CULTURE HAS BEEN CHANGED.
