Fren it would be easy to engrave the casing/brass. Just clamp it down and you could use a cheap engraver. It dosn't have to be perfect. https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-290-01-Stroke-Engraver-Template/dp/B0000302YN/ref=asc_df_B0000302YN

Why wouldn't a person just use a fine point sharpie, permanent ink?

Much easier than engraving.
