Years ago I discovered that the denomination of the church I went to supported rebel soldiers in a foreign country with the donations that were given for mission work.
Later, the church I attended hired a new pastor who greatly increased the size of the congregation...until it was discovered that he was picking up men at a local bar and bringing them back to the parsonage. The congregation found this out after his wife left and divorced him.
The ones you look up to the most are the ones that let you down, so it would seem.
Exactly why I refuse to attend. I don't "look up" to any man of the cloth, only God. There have been too many wake up calls:
Priests/Pastors preying on the young/vulnerable.
Former MLB player Ben Zobrist. Look him up. In a nutshell, a man of faith (Zobrist) who's wife had an affair with his pastor/advisor.

If I told you who and what "God" was, you wouldn't trust me either.
Look at who you do trust. The Vatican's definitions and interpretations, passed down by the blind leading the blind for the past 1700 years. Otherwise known as the "cabal". They are responsible for mainstream Christian understanding. The same gang that runs the banking, government, military, media, legal and educational systems.
Do you disagree? Do you think the cabal controls and has controlled all these other institutions but somehow hasn't gotten their mitts on religious institutions as well?
I totally agree that Rome hijacked Christianity for its own ends.
Yep, they made up a whole new "religion", by simply changing the meanings of a couple dozen words and interpreting it from a literal, historic, materialistic perspective.
Scripture is truly a 'psychological drama within consciousness". That's what it's all about. An 'inside job' from beginning to end. But very few "believers" are open to hearing such a suggestion. It's "blasphemy and heretical" to suggest anything other than the popular understanding. Christians just "turn off" and won't hear a word of it, thanks to some very clever tricks and manipulations built into the Cabal/Roman/Vatican rendition.
