I don't consider her the weaker of the two, per se. More like, she was willing to blow up what they had going for them because she didn't use wisdom and discernment in the situation. She reacted emotionally, as women often do, and with greed. And Adam liked having a woman, so he overlooked and excused what she did, and therefore fell into line behind her and also sinned.

Look at all the women on youtube crying over how they wanted a divorce and now realize it was the worst mistake of their lives. Generally speaking, men will sacrifice their personal happiness for their families, while women will sacrifice their families for their personal happiness. Not much has changed.
