Unfortunately when I took them there was no community of advocates at all to guide me, just a lot of acid maniacs who proselytized how wonderful it was. It wasn't at all, It made me quite ill for many years.
Nowadays the community has a lot more knowledge about harm reduction, and how to do things safely. There are many more resources available now.
I've always advocated being realistic and transparent about adverse effects. I want people to get the maximum benefit out of psychedelic therapy if it can help them. This includes mitigating any possible adverse effects.
