On one hand there's so many people working for/with the government getting paid way too much and producing literally nothing beneficial for society and I want them all gone. On the other hand having thousands more unemployed people without an abundance of job opportunities for them to switch into is also very bad
Even if there were jobs. Part of the problem would be the lack of relevant skills many of them have. Government tends to be one of the last things to adapt to changing economic conditions and technological rollouts.
I mean hell. They had a Bunker in the heart of a Mountain set aside for just paperwork. Rack on Rack of Personnel Files.
Though to be fair it’s not like private companies are particularly interested in training their employees either these days. But by god they sure will whine to the media about the lack of qualified people to hire and complain schools aren’t doing their jobs. Hence they need to import a bajillion more Indians and Chinese H1-Bs.
It's not just for government records, Iron Mountain that is. I learned of its existence in 2005 when I was in college for Health Information Technology degree. They store paper medical records from many hospitals there. Probably not so much new ones as most are digital now.
Woke schools have turned a lot of kids into entitled brats that enter college seeking useless degrees and still expecting a $100K+ job right out of college. When reality hits, they will still not pivot and join a shop class. They will just double down, go on welfare and start protesting, demanding even more freebies. Woke culture has destroyed the work culture. I think that's what Vivek was talking about (not White or Christian culture). The globalists have spent trillions of dollars and decades turning Western societies to their current state. This is why it will take much more than an executive order from Trump to turn things around.
