Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

change is hard. when a market changes it will both ruin and create all at the same time.
seeing many people panicking about silver.
anyone who ever buys anything should know that physical is only worth something if someone is willing to buy it. The price of silver going up causes the people at the top to reaffirm their risks and redo them.
I am not perfect in explaining this but for now it seems like the people who are the powerful deciding to try and implode silver out of being pissed that they can not keep it regulated like they want, so they folded.
is it part of the dominos of the controlled demolition?
only thing is on the same side of being a sleep those who hoarded lots of silver and thought some magical land when it hits 50 US dollars they will be able to just cash it in and they totally forgot about supply and demand works both ways.
now we will see people so pissed that they will sell their silver for 50 percent off which will make it 25 dollars an ounce on the secondary market/local markets because for some weird reason people do that. Just be patient. Everything I have ever purchased that is physical is not for me. It is for my kids.
growing up in a city that has gambling addictions I would see many people just sit behind slot machines and in the end they have nothing. Seen many people bet on horses and in the end have nothing to show for it.. at least this is something and our sins get passed down to our kids and so does our good works.
stop being selfish is a hard lesson to learn.. I am not perfect and in real life many people do not like me, I cuss occasionally and leave the toilet seat up.. haha
I don’t agree with your full market mechanics analysis, but this point is spot (ba-dum*psh!) on.
Same thing with real estate. People gotta stop looking for “I’M GONNA GET MINE!!!” and start looking for what’s best for our heirs and society as a whole.
oh yeah.. those on ARM's and bought into the myth that this stuff is not coming will be in trouble.
we need people to start caring about their families and neighbors again.. this is a Christian foundation that even Christians do not have in the USA. At Church the Pastor is always talking about Missionaries in other countries as-if we are to perfect of a nation to need such...
Even those as me who are really very liberal might have issues. I bough our home over 20 years ago and did not sell to buy a fancier home. I like our home that is essentially a mobile home without wheels. Our neighbors are nice. We get some crime over the years but not the Antifa terrorists yet.
I should have payed the home off but I like to spoil the kids and buy bullion and such.
Those who are in homes that are so-called in the million zone these days... there is not enough people capable of buying those so what the banks are doing is re-evaluating them so they can re-finance and not even doing a home-equity draw...
we already seen too many homelessness...
What is concerning is when that portion of Americans are in need, what will they do? That might be the biggest precipice we will see soon.
I get on to foreign missionaries about that every time I see them.
“We need missionary work at home! Fill the cup first! There’s no overflow if the cup is almost empty!”
“THE_IRS just showed up to repossess my tent and shopping cart!”
I think God is still in control and uses those that are deemed invaluable to the social norms as the conduit to such things.
I make mistakes all the time but I try again. Yes the other day I got mad at a situation and cussed at the worker and then noticed one of the people that go to the church we go to was there... I am not a leader or anyone important. Just a human who was frustrated...
however, yes, when I hear them talk about the Missionaries and giving money to send so and so to do such and such... I start thinking of that Verse in the Bible where that man was essentially in his chair (USA is this man) and he thought to himself that he is in need of nothing... Then God was like you fool. --can not think of the exact verse right now.. pretty sure that is the gist of it.
USA literally has people prancing around like fairies, old men doing meth in the streets, homeless people with signs that say all sort of ridiculous things trying to get money, and this list can go on for a very long time. Yet we are are concerned about some country that allegedly the Elites are growing their children to be slaves for.
I really do wonder what God sees in the USA these days? Maybe you are one of the only reasons we are not destroyed?
Who are these people?
I am not sure who is complaining about $50 silver being sold at 50% off, but out here in Australia we can sell the silver at $46 to the bullion dealers.
Oh and i think plenty of patriots would love to gobble up silver at $26 or every $30 if some one tries to unload it.
And no the powerful people are not trying to implode silver. Their ability to keep it shorted is getting harder and harder, which is all linked to every other aspect of the controlled demolition.
And in a free market silver would be trading much higher and we still aren’t there yet
If i didn’t know better, i would have said that this rant is by someone who feels like they missed out of the silver bull run.
the reverse... people who have kept silver is all trying to sell at the same time and it will not support so the buyers of silver are turning away people in hoards and now silver bars, 90 percent, and such is flat out not being bought from people.
I go to stores and ask questions a little. I still buy, but I always buy to collect and get off types of stuff. Called collectible silver or higher end silver. I dabble in numinmatics and that also is going down in cost for end users.
So the refineries and stores are not buying from people who waited to see 50 dollar silver and they are getting turned away. This could cause new markets for those who want to gobble up cheap silver from other citizens... not the stores but if stores have those unwanted things now they too will sell off at a loss or they will hold onto it to.
look the other way.. they changed it on silver.
Have you tried https://www.jmbullion.com/ ?
I do not buy to ever sell. I buy things and laugh at the thought of my kids shaking their heads and saying WTF.... for instance I will buy over priced silver that is art and it has weight value and collectible value--ie 2024 Cook Island $25 Ultra High Relief Iron Knight 5 oz .9999 Silver Proof Coin... then I will also get a ms68 2025 USA Penny along with something like a 1909-s VDB graded penny.
some can not understand there is a value in numismatic pennies and also a market for high relief silver art... in reality Silver bullion itself is a niche market.
what I do is I will sell occasionally to local coin stores around the state and I have only been turned away once but the next place bought it.
Gold is going to always be safe no matter the way we have it physically just that jewelry is the worst type of gold to have.. minus those weight necklaces, but those places skim off of the miniature percentages of gold while making that to re-sell.
There do seem to be a significant number of people doing mass dumps of their stock. Not sure why or what price they might be getting for it. Maybe they just aren’t solvent?
