U/mzakone - ^ this is a modern and New Testament view. There are still some Hebrew sects that do not acknowledge the New Testament or that Jesus is the Messiah. Animal sacrifices were quite common among these cultures, and maybe still are. Research needed.
sure.. but animal sacrifices do not make sense. What need does God have for you to sacrifice an animal? It is perhaps symbolic or a message comparable to "Man do not live by bread alone but by every word perceived from the mouth of God".
