I expect it is the same way the climate scam has been funded for some decades now.

Some billionaire wants to fund a dubious organisation.
Billionaires donate money to a foundation, instead.
By some miraculous thought-reading process, the foundation donates it to the exactly the same organisation that said billionaire wanted it to go to without any prompting behind the scenes or any coercion of any kind.
That foundation gets repeat business from that billionaire.
