In the U.S., the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and other laws have been used to allow for the indefinite detention of individuals, including citizens, suspected of terrorism.
Once we put down this infiltration/insurrection I hope we finally ditch the Patriot Act and the NDAA. It's coming in pretty handy right now though I have to admit.
Reminds me of "The Dark Knight Rises." Batman used NSA-style city-wide surveillance tech to pinpoint the Joker, with explicit instructions to Fox to type his own name in and hit "enter" once the situation was resolved to initiate self-destruct mode. Something tells me that's the plan with these tools as well.
