I read that it was going to cost too much in digital effects to 'de-age' him from his current age of 57 back down to age 33, the age he was when the last movie was made. He still needs to look exactly the same age, as the 2nd movie takes place only days later in the story.
I mean, it seems to me, the de-aging would be easier than trying to make guy #2 look identical to Jim Caviezel's Jesus. But what do I know?
