California creates "Bureau for Descendants of American Slavery" in lieu of reparations
Despite making slavery illegal at its inception in 1850, way back in 2023 California's legislature decided to virtue-signal their commitment to DEI by commissioning a slavery reparations task force.
I'm Irish. My descendants were brought here as slaves, way before anyone knew about Africa. Where's my money?
Exactly! Following your line of thinking, on my grandmother's ship passage papers in 1910, she was listed as a "servant" for her occupation. Would that qualify me to get reparations on her behalf as a descendant?

Ahh, it's your future. I see grift, lots and lots of skimming
That would be o.k. with me...on one condition. It needs to be a legal affidavit when if it was proven false, the applicant will go straight to prison! LYING IS EVIL, and there needs to be consequences!
DNA testing to prove your ancestors were slaves, and not a member of the tribes that sold slaves.
DNA testing would only show the area of Africa from which the ancestors came. If you have ever watched "Finding Your Roots," actual slaves were RARELY even designated by first name, but by their age and sex only. Proving slavery by a DNA test is not valid whatsoever, but sounds like a way to satisfy the masses and score 'Running in 2028" points. AND --- what bigdog1970 said.
There is no available DNA to match it to
