We called them Wild Card Events. I created several of the scenarios. Very low probability of occurrence but the odds of death increased significantly even though the odds of the occurrence was so low. I believe the knowledge of the wild cards spawned several asteroid movies and why we watched the sky so closely. Mass migration across the southern border was another one. India and Pakistan getting nuclear weapons and shooting at each other. That came a little too close.
The idea was to put some planning in place, just in case it happened.

The actors don’t make the special effects. Definitely a lot of late ‘90s disaster films. Early 2000s too.
