Vegas ironically went down downhill after they kicked out the mob and all the Casinos went into corporate ownership. It’s been dying a slow death for years as prices continued climbing, service kept declining, and the interests of consumers went elsewhere.
Granted probably has to deal with the fact there are many trades and Businesses that frankly can’t be Corporatized and expected to thrive. They require a more hands on an individualized approach. An approach the Mob was all too successful at.
As opposed to rule by an out of touch Corporate Board whose sole existence is to pump it for everything they can get as fast possible and an army of middle managers.
Here's where my suspicion lies...how do all of these families survive in a dying town? I understand they're on many different "immigrants friendly" programs.
But after awhile those go away. Unless there is fraud happening. Or other malicious activities are occurring.
Then, law enforcement sits idly by, afraid to make waves. Because it's easier to get along than to confront evil.

It used to be a fun city. I will be going there next month to meet my family. They like to gamble.

I think there's another industry or several that's not legal.
