That Depo-Provera shot (which is taken I think something like every 3 months) gave me horrific side effects. Its common side effect is to make women STOP having periods (which would have been welcome). But instead, after getting a SINGLE shot (with a supposed 3-month longevity), I bled vaginally EVERY DAY FOR A YEAR - and often in large amounts too!
That ONE shot led to so much prolonged, profuse bleeding, it induced anemia and caused a slew of all kinds of grueling health problems that went on for beyond a year. I never went anywhere near that stuff again and warned every woman I knew not to ever take that shot.
I need pharmaceutical meds are bad business and stayed away as much as I can. Only exception was Aleve with headache. I have never been able to figure that one out until recently.
I’m leery of any meds at this point - Rx and OTC. I go for natural remedies and supplements whenever possible. And I stay away from doctors for the most part, unless it’s a chiropractor (non-invasive treatment without cutting or Rx involved), or if it’s an actual emergency / injury, or needing dental care. I hate electronic health records tracking people like cattle. It’s just evil!

That’s awful! I’m glad you got through it. That stuff is awful. I think it’s still on the market, not sure. I remember seeing ads a few years ago.
Thanks. Nothing compared to what YOU’VE been thru though. That Depo-Provera stuff should definitely be taken off the market if it’s still out there. :-(
I think you got me beat on the bad side effects. I don’t miss monthly’s! I can’t imagine 3 months straight. That’s awful.
Not 3 straight months of menstrual bleeding from a single Depo-Provera shot. It lasted a whole YEAR for me! :-O
