My opinion, like most seniors, does not matter for the future. I still have one though. I escaped to the very rural hills of Vermont 40 years ago, to live the life I wanted to, simple, low tech, organic, unplugged for most of the day. I embrace the ritual of keeping the stove burning, adding wood, through the cold months. I embrace the based neighbors who hunt and fish, make their own ammo, and the fact that our houses are dark by 10pm, and we are up before dawn. I loved working my own land by hand, so that now my gardens are deep bedded. I don't know, this Brave New World is not appealing to me. The softening of men through automation does not appeal to me. I hope the future will still have people and strong men who turn to the natural world to eke out their lives, felling trees and planting them too. Glad I am 75 and will not live to see it all get built up only to fall. Because it will.
