Real question: How does one actually hold a job if they must pray 5 times a day? How long is each prayer ritual, 5 min, 15 min, a half hour? I realize that the times are spread out over the day, but how many prayers take place during normal work hours?
When I visited Indonesia for business, non-Muslim institutions with devout Muslim employees treated prayer breaks like we treat cigarette breaks here. In Muslim-owned companies, they would interrupt all work for the required time. But they usually work more than 9-5 in those jobs. In one meeting they brought us Westerners tea and water while they excused themselves to their prayer rooms, returning in about 15 or 20 minutes. It worked out.
Russia evolved in its own way, very differently from the U.S. Remember Chechnya, a part of Russia, has been Muslim for centuries. And other parts of Russia border Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, where the border populations include significant Muslim populations. It has always accommodated them to a degree. And their border control is not perfect either, and they have extensive borders.
The USSR is what it is. They've always had a substantial Muslim population since their founding in the central Asia republics. They're about 10% of the population. They've had lots of issues with it: see Chechnya. But Putin clamps down on it with an iron fist and they behave. Remove the strong man and Islam will do what Islam does.
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."

How are Muslims allowed to migrate to Russia, especially when they don't assimilate? Why does Putin allow this, I find it very shocking.

What became the central Asia republics was an integral part of the Russian empire. The USA grew westward, the Russian empire eastward.
