Sadly, we're already dangerously close to a surveillance state. Cameras are everywhere, even in our homes. We voluntarily bring Alexa type "smart" devices into our home. And our cellphones are mobile tracking devices recording conversations and messages. Short of big brother living in our spare bedrooms, we're kinda already overly-surveilled, and we're paying for it on top of that! With cell phone service fees, home security fees etc. Pretty crazy when you think about it.
