it is very sad to say but i dont disagree with him if you look at the big picture.....education systems here are turning out a bunh of woke lowlife lazy untalented people.....some of these other nations push high education....we need to rebuild our system....it is pathetic what this political system in the past has done....we look for qualified people all the time...good luck.... i am an aircraft engineer and the talent pool is very slim.....you cant find people that want to work or learn what it takes....they want it all handed to them they way the system taught them....so it think potus is viewing from the 40000 ft level.....i am not sure i agree with it at face value..but how can you bring all this investment back here when there are not the personnel to support it??
The shills are riding this pony hard. Any little thing taken out of context or not understood from POTUS knowledge and perspective is fuel for the split MAGA fire.
Another issue that needs time to play out. If you are concerned and want to let him know how you feel, just send an email to the White House letting him know exactly what you think. There are so many psyops playing out that the only thing that bothers me right now is the constant complaining of those who should know much of what we see is not what it seems. You are right Angel. I sent a note to Dr. Robert Malone today asking him why we are still being injected with lethal Covid vaccines, and I'll ask the White House not to bring another million foreigners here to push Americans out of education and tech jobs. What good does it do us to educate the Chinese?
Can I ask a question? Did you really join GAW 10 months ago just for this post.
Because WOW! now that would be some serious planning. BTW, what's the 'a' for at the end of "/u/No8No12a"? Ok, sorry that's 2 questions.
The apprentice/journeyman system of mastering any trade was the foundation for everything that happened to make America the technology and manufacturing leader of the world. Now is largely extinct in the no longer made in the United States era.
For some high-tech positions, he's probably correct. So, you bring over the experts to train your workers and bring them up-to-speed. I see nothing wrong with that.
Bank of America Investment Banking’s technology sectors in US offices are entirely Indian now. It’s a nightmare. Emails are poorly written, communication is painful, and so on. The cultures do not mesh at all. It’s depressing.
But more likely it was him announcing a half-backed idea without any of the specifics worked out yet. He’s done it before. Hence he avoided specifics when discussing what the talent missing actually was and made a general reference to assembly lines.
When the smoke clears and it gets brought up in the future. Either they’ll have the idea hammered out and it’ll be to the effect of visas for people with (Insert unusual or rare Scientific/Industrial skill that’s hard to find in the world. Let alone in America) Or they’ll have dropped the idea for a more palatable alternative.
I used to work for a company that had 3/4 of the workforce in India. The Indians work like robots but no matter how busy someone was or department if their brak was at X o'clock they would just leave. Send them a msg or email they will not answer it for 20 min 1/2 hr. 1 American salary can pay for 3-4 Indians. Thats the issue.
Lack enough people? Why??? Maybe this is the prelude to how many actually died in the covid fakedemic. Is this what he is highlighting??? They killed millions off and then moved in the illegals. Is this the news Americans will go to the hospital over. When they find out their loved ones were culled by the people they love and vote into office.
There are a lot of highly educated Indians that come here on H1B. Most, however, are here for the advancement back home. I have worked with both. As for talent here? Sad to say, but in 40 years in the high tech industry, I ccn tell you that what our institutions are turning out is pure shit. There are some exceptions, but those are rare. Kids coming straight out of college demanding CEO level salaries, flex time, 30 hour work weeks, "safe places", etc etc. They can barely put two sentences together and many are flippant and even belligerent in interviews. Then they can't figure out why no one wants to hire them. The companies go with H1B for cheaper talent. Most are not that good, but a damn sight better than most of the crap we have been getting lately.
It's possibly a coded message? For example, he could be talking about a time period in December. H=8 and B=2, which would make it 8-12. That could be a specific day or the 2nd workweek -- Monday the 8th to Friday the 12th.
Or it could mean Trump hates our tech workers and wants to replace them.

Using his own words? We heard what he said in full context.

You’re right. Easy to lose sight of it all sometimes.

He's right, prove him wrong. Talent so short in my industry we have just cut back. Had nine employees now have 4 and myself.

We no longer have the skills, en masse, for certain positions, and that was intentional.
That doesn't mean it can't be turned around, but realistically someone has to man those positions while this occurs.
The key is obliterating the fraud inherent with said visa.

Disagree heartily.
