Working single mothers should be collecting child support. The father should be feeding those children. Widowed single mothers are the exception to this.
Of course they should and many fathers do pay support, but many are incarcerated, get SSI or can’t be located so they don’t pay. It looks good on paper but doesn’t always play out that way in the real world.
All exceptions to the rule.
