My Mother wailed in the next room; we soon left for the grandparents' home across town. As they sat at the kitchen table I wandered out and up the dirt road to the top of the hill. Two men and a woman were at a home construction site. The floor joists were being placed over the basement. The woman asked where my mother was. I told her about rushing over because of what happened. She called out to the workers and dispatched one of them to find out what had happened. He returned confirming what I had said. Forty years later at my auto repair business the radio D.J. reminded that today would be the 40th anniversary of the assassination of JFK. He then said everyone remembers where they were on that day. I asked the woman in my waiting area who was considerably older than I, if she remembered. She proceeded to tell me about the little sandy headed boy who walked up to the job site where she and her husband were building their new home. On 65th avenue. I was stunned. It was me.
These pictures bring such tears to my eyes. I was only in 2nd grade but I remember it well and you are so right because now, so many years later, it is quite true that it was innocence lost and can easily be seen as when all this evil shit started happening out in the open for all to see who have eyes to see.
The same for me dame...such a horrific shock and I was only a small child as well. I remember exactly how I felt to this day. I have my Mama's Life Magazines and the photos are heartbreaking. I knew something was very wrong that day. ππ€¬
So many of us feel the same way about it as something we remember to the very core of our being, our soul. It's like we knew what we were seeing was somehow changing the world. It is awesome that you have the Life Magazine but the pictures are still very difficult to see.

I was in third grade. My favorite teacher was in the Principles office as he had a TV, and she was sitting on the floor watching and visibly crying along with a-few other teachers. My class was at recess, but I was walking back from the girls restroom and saw that the door was open and my teacher. It was a very sad day.
And to think it was a criminal conspiracy of American deep state, American elites & those who canβt be named that assassinated him.
Looking at all those faces, I can't help but think how many of those people in D.C. at the time were on the side of the bad guys and were happy that the power of the Kennedy family had been removed.
A reminder of my birth year, and to the day (a couple of years later), my sisterβs birth date (today). When evil (and our corrupt existence) became overtβ¦π

You describe it perfectly...
Apologies on swearing yesterday (not toward you obviously, but just in general). The school gaslighting thing is not my most appreciated war front.
NP...not even sure what you're talking about...

I was on my ship in Yokosula Japan when it was announced of his death-I wept bitter tears for days.
I'm so sorry and can't imagine. God bless your service. π«‘
The memory of him dying that way will never leave me. I was in the 6th grade.
It shaped our generation and those to come...

The Darkest of Days in American History.
Absolutely SirBud...π
I have never forgotten the sound of the muffled drums as the caisson rolled along. So mournful.
Yes ...and the sound of people lining the road for miles weeping ...π
