Totally understandable. I think there’s pros and cons to bioengineering. I try to avoid it myself but it has improved yields/pest resistance etc so in poorer areas of the world it does provide more food for them. If my choice was to starve or eat bioengineered plants, obviously I would eat it.
Also worthy of note is that even non gmo plants have been cross bred and manipulated through more natural selection so much that they often barely resemble their “natural” versions.
Ears of corn from 1000’s of years ago were these tiny things only a few inches long, now they’re these 12 inch behemoths even before gmos
I know what you are saying. I wonder sometimes if Non GMO is nothing more than a printed label. Plants have always been crossed to make a better fruit but when they take it into the lab and genetically modify the seed where you cannot plant next years plants from GM seed, it makes you wonder! I know you can buy Red Wheat for making bread and it is better for you than the GM wheat.
Yeah but bioengineered can mean a multitude of different things. Typically it’s just a gmo plant product in the food.
When this ceo said 3d printed meat I think it’s very likely he was talking about processed chicken similar to what is in chicken nuggets.
3d printing actual chicken would be super expensive compared to just using chicken side cuts and fat and making up some chicken-ish pieces.
I buy non GMO myself.

Finally, someone is giving this some rational thought.
