Those same UN/US Ag groups also did that to parts of India and So East Asia. Told them to grow this "new" bioengineered super rice instead of their native rice crops that they had been growing for generations. The first couple of years the program worked well and they brought in bumper crops. Then the crops failed due to some kind of insect or disease that their native varieties of rice were not vulnerable to. Of course then they told the farmers they had to spray their crops. The chemicals made the plants and land so toxic it would kill their livestock that for generations they allowed into the fields to forage what was left over after harvest. Not to mention some of the farmers started getting ill from the same chemicals.

Then the rice market crashed, just as you stated, because so many were growing this super rice. Great idea. Get all these 3rd world farmers to all grow the same mono crop taking on massive debt because of the super seeds and the chemicals. They didn't even have enough rice for their own families much less sell any. They wanted to go back to their native plants but by then they were unable to get seeds any more - all by design. It was horrible what Big Ag did to these people.
