Yep, certification of the vote must be done by a joint session of Congress and the Senate. . .or Jan 6. Any disputed delegates (by state) must be resolved; no matter how long it takes; before certification is final. The fix couldn't stand scrutiny so they couped the meeting closed.
Yep. If things had gone the way that the democrats were worried they’d go, Trump would have won reelection. That is actually what I expected that day. After the Senator and Congressman objected and two hours of discussion there would be a vote. But each state only gets one vote and the Republicans controlled more states. So the Democrats staged the “danger” to cause the end of the session and evacuation. When they returned, Nancy put it into emergency session so the object process was prevented.
