There is a severe rot in the Republican party and a lot of Republicans/conservatives are completely unaware that their help is needed to fix it.
Imagine your ideal government. Does it function if everyone does nothing? If the best people in your community are afraid to run for office or can't afford to? Do you think your leaders will be responsive when they receive zero constituent contact and single digit election turnout? Do you complain about Republican general election candidates but not participate in the primary?
This is not targeted at any specific person, but I run into so many people who are unhappy with politics but completely uninvolved in politics. They are content to lose and complain rather than to play the game.
The fact is, that as a conservative, If I run for office I will be ruined. The dems will see to it. If it looks like I will win my seat, they will slander and destroy me personally. They will hire people to destroy me, both in public and private. Marriage? Over. Kids? not able to go anywhere without being recognized, ridiculed, and/or embarrassed by the made up allegations of the parent. If I run as a dem, I will win, have peace, lots of money, free plane rides to where ever I want, and booze.

Get in the game. It's fun and the more patriots who play the more fun it gets.

You forgot to add that the GOP will not support you. We have had uniparty control for decades, maybe even longer.
