This mornings news states that the United Methodist Church in the USA has completely divested from Israel. As a boomer who grew up with denominational churches, I do tend to "trust" men who have been ordained after years of tried and true theological study, over an evangelical who obtained their little certificate from some organization that has popped up over the past 20 years, prompted with political leanings one way or the other. On both sides. The Israel loving pastors and the pastors who are flying LGBT flags outside of their doors. Kudos to the Methodists. A church is a rock, with sometimes centuries of rock solid creeds, theology written by men who were called to the cloth. After death, our souls live eternally, hoping for the resurrection we were promised . Worshipping Israel, as many of these American pastors do, should make you question your allegiance to Jesus the Christ. Yes, there is corruption in established churches, but heres a hint, the only place without corruption is Heaven, is Paradise. The establishment of non denominational churches have caused traditional houses of worship to crumble and close and empty out. I have lived long enough to know that life was better for all when they were striving, neighborhoods were safer, families worshipped together because there was an order to their worship. Just an opinion and observation.
I was raised merhodist and truthfully never cracked a bible with them. At 23 i really got hungry and figured out tje answers are only in the bible not with any man made theology which many churches practice.
My wife and I were raised United Methodist...got married in a UM church...taught Sunday School and youth groups as young married adults in the UM church...raised our own kids in the UM church.
And then in the early 2000s, the UM church took a hard LEFT turn and has been hammer-down ever since. It started with the "reconciling" UM congregations in the early 1990s, and the sin took full bloom thereafter. And that adherence to sin...has since rent asunder the denomination into two. GOOD!
We left the UM church for good (organized religion, really) about 8 years ago and haven't been back -- and it absolutely WARMS my soul to know that the primary UM denomination is dying off and flaming out because of their capitulation to Satan in this world. Not a nice admission, but there it is. And I'm totally rooting for the offshoot Global Methodist Church to take root, continue to grow, and overcome its hideous origins.
The Methodist churches here have left the LGBTQ whatever and the non scriptural corruption. It’s a mess. I feel sorry for my friends who have left the church of their families and their youth for crazy doctrines. Methodists have gone crazy.
